How to Use a Car Rig in Cinema 4D

SHC_Studio_F3Q1How-to-use-a-car-rig-cinema-4dIt's great to have a 3D car in your arsenal, but being able to animate it convincingly brings its own set of challenges. Well, some of these challenges are easily mastered with this useful, fun car rig!

Getting Into Gear

The first thing you need to do if you want to have a go is download the car rig. This can be found on the following Vimeo page: vimeo.com/193269259

A massive thank you to Matteo Forghieri for this lovely car rig. It's really quite flexible. You can use it with cars and wheels of various sizes, and it's quite intuitive to use.

I particularly like how you can clamp it to a surface. The wheels will traverse it, giving the effect of realistic suspension, as well as go round at the correct rate.

Hopefully you too can use this rig on your own vehicles and get up to speed with vehicle animation!
